Tupac Amaru Shakur, known to the world as 2Pac, was born on June 16, 1971, in East Harlem, New York City. His mother, Afeni Shakur, was a Black Panther Party activist, and his father, Billy Garland, was a member of the Panther's chapter in New York. From a young age, Tupac was exposed to the struggles and injustices faced by the Black community in America.

In 1988, Tupac and his family moved to Marin City, California. There, he enrolled in Tamalpais High School, where he began developing his interest in music. In 1991, he released his debut album, "2Pacalypse Now," which was a critical and commercial success. The album's lyrics tackled issues of social injustice, poverty, and police brutality, and resonated deeply with young people who felt marginalized and disenfranchised.

Over the next few years, Tupac's career skyrocketed. He released several successful albums, including "Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z." (1993),"Me Against the World" (1995),and "All Eyez on Me" (1996),which became one of the best-selling albums of all time. Tupac's unique rapping style, his powerful lyrics, and his charismatic stage presence made him one of the most popular and influential rappers in the world.

Throughout his career, Tupac was involved in numerous controversies. He was arrested multiple times, including for assault, weapons charges, and sexual assault. His lyrics often glorified violence and misogyny, which drew criticism from some quarters. Tupac also had a volatile relationship with the media, and he was often portrayed as a dangerous and unstable figure.

However, Tupac's supporters argued that his controversial persona was a reflection of the harsh realities of life in the inner city. They saw him as a voice for the voiceless, and they admired his willingness to speak out against injustice. Tupac's complex and contradictory character made him a polarizing figure, but it also added to his mystique and appeal.

Tupac's activism extended beyond music, as he also worked with organizations that provided support to underprivileged communities.

Tupac's commitment to social justice was rooted in his own experiences. He had witnessed firsthand the struggles faced by Black people in America, and he believed that he had a responsibility to use his platform to fight for change. Tupac's activism made him a role model for many young people, and it continues to inspire activists and social justice advocates today.
