Tupac Amaru Shakur, known to the world as 2Pac, was born on June 16, 1971, in East Harlem, New York City. His mother, Afeni Shakur, was a Black Panther Party activist, and his father, Billy Garland, was a member of the Panther's chapter in New York. From a young age, Tupac was exposed to the struggles and injustices faced by the Black community in America.
In 1988, Tupac and his family moved to Marin City, California. There, he enrolled in Tamalpais High School, where he began developing his interest in music. In 1991, he released his debut album, "2Pacalypse Now," which was a critical and commercial success. The album's lyrics tackled issues of social injustice, poverty, and police brutality, and resonated deeply with young people who felt marginalized and disenfranchised.
Over the next few years, Tupac's career skyrocketed. He released several successful albums, including "Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z." (1993),"Me Against the World" (1995),and "All Eyez on Me" (1996),which became one of the best-selling albums of all time. Tupac's unique rapping style, his powerful lyrics, and his charismatic stage presence made him one of the most popular and influential rappers in the world.
