At first, it's all fake. Faked smiles, faked laughter, and faked affection. But as they spend more time together, the lines between fiction and reality start to blur. Avery begins to see a different side to Ethan, a side that is kind, funny, and surprisingly charming. And Ethan, in turn, starts to realize that there's more to Avery than meets the eye.
But their fake relationship comes with challenges. Ethan's overprotective best friend, Avery's jealous ex, and the ever-present threat of their true feelings being exposed. Will they be able to navigate the choppy waters of fake dating and find true love? Or will their enemies-to-lovers charade end in heartbreak?
Chapter 1: The Fake Date
"I hate you," Avery hissed through gritted teeth.
Ethan smirked. "You love me."
Avery rolled her eyes. "In your dreams."
Ethan shrugged. "A girl can dream."
Avery narrowed her eyes. "I'm not a girl."
Ethan raised an eyebrow. "Oh, I don't know about that."
Avery was about to retort when she realized what he was ng. He was trying to get a rise out of her. And it was working.
"Whatever," she muttered, turning away from him.
But Ethan followed her. "Hey," he said, reaching for her hand. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to push your buttons."
Avery hesitated for a moment before turning back to face him. "I know," she said. "It's just...it's hard to be around you sometimes."
"Why?" Ethan asked.
Avery sighed. "Because..." She paused, trying to find the right words. "Because you're my brother's best friend."
Ethan's face softened. "I know," he said. "And I'm sorry for that."
Avery shook her head. "It's not your fault. It's just...it's a little weird."
Ethan nodded. "I understand," he said. "But I promise, I won't make things weird. I'll just be your friend."
Avery looked at him for a long moment. She could tell that he meant what he said. And she couldn't help but feel a little bit sorry for him. He was just trying to be a good friend, and she was making it difficult for him.
"Okay," she said finally. "I'll give you a chance."
Ethan smiled. "Great," he said. "Now, about that fake date..."
Avery groaned. "I can't believe I'm ng this."
Ethan laughed. "You'll thank me later."
Avery shook her head, but she couldn't help but smile. She had a feeling that this fake date was going to be anything but boring.
Chapter 2: The Wedding
The wedding was everything Avery had dreamed of and more. The food was delicious, the music was lively, and the atmosphere was electric. But for Avery, the best part of the night was spending it with Ethan.
They had been pretending to date for a few weeks now, and Avery had to admit, she was starting to enjoy it. Ethan was nothing like she had thought he was. He was kind, funny, and surprisingly charming. And he made her laugh, which was something she hadn't done in a long time.
As the night went on, Avery found herself falling deeper and deeper in love with Ethan. She couldn't believe how lucky she was to have him in her life.
At the end of the night, Ethan walked Avery to her car. "I had a really great time tonight," he said.
"Me too," Avery said.
Ethan leaned in and kissed her. It was a soft, sweet kiss, and Avery felt her heart melt.
"I should probably go," Ethan said, pulling away.
"Okay," Avery said. "But I'll see you tomorrow
